Berry Day a Big Success!

Our Berry Day for Market Sprouts (kids ages 3-12) was a big succcess! Sprouts were able to taste test strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries generously donated by Warnock Farm Market. The winning berry was the Raspberry (but Blueberries were a close second and were ahead up until the end). Kids loved getting free berries along with berry recipes they could enjoy with their families and a free plant start donated by Magic Garden. It was also our first day with our new Market Sprout Passports that kids could take around to various vendors and have them stamp their passport as they learned about market goodies.
We have some more fun things planned for this week's markets as well. Our Thursday market will be enjoying the musical talents of Daniel Mark Faller and the Working Poor. They play a great mix of alternative country, americana, and folk rock. They are based in the Quad Cities area of Washington and Idaho and play a mixture of original and popular songs. Sounds like a great time! Vendors will also be providing us with yummy cherries and berries again in addition to fresh produce and crafts.
Our Saturday market will be featuring our first annual Bike-a-Rama! We will have a bike expert from Joseph Hardware there from 12-1 pm to help young and old alike with any bike needs. It is a great opportunity for kids to bring their bikes and helmets and get them sized properly and have learn how to give their bike a checkup. And don't forget to check out this week's Market Sprout activity and great vendors!
